What is Surge Arrestor?

So friends, in the transmission line, the surge arrester is placed between the pole and the conductor wire, and if we talk about the houses, then the surge arrester is placed between the phase wire and the earth wire near the energy meter. The transmission line conductor wire is connected to the pole with the help of an insulator. The job of the insulator is only to keep our conductor wire away from the pole because if the wire touches the pole, then a short circuit can happen. That’s why insulators are used, so the wire stays away from the pole.
